Cerbera wiring connector master list (Revision 3)

This page is a consolidated reference for the Revision 3 TVR Cerbera loom — the revision where the original AMP “Duomate” wire-to-wire connectors were superseded by the ITT Cannon Trident range. It lists every connector, splice joint, multiway and fuseboard block in the front and rear harnesses, with pin, wire colour, conductor size (mm²) and destination.

If you only need one area (front harness connectors, front harness connectors with photos, the MBE ECU pinout, etc.) see the more focused pages already on the wiki. This page is intended as the master cross-reference when chasing a circuit end-to-end.

  • J-numbers (e.g. J10) identify a physical connector on the car. They are the labels used on the official Revision 3 wiring documentation.
  • Splice joints are numbered separately (front harness 1–14, rear harness 1–26). They are crimped/soldered joins inside the loom where one feed fans out to several destinations.
  • Multiway connectors (J30–J35) are the big body-to-body junctions between the front harness, rear harness and dash area. Pin numbers in those connectors match between front and rear sides.
  • Wire sizes are in mm² cross-section. Colours use TVR’s two-letter scheme (e.g. green/red = green with a red trace).

Caution. Wiring on a 25-year-old TVR is rarely 100% to drawing — previous repairs, alarm installs and dashboard swaps are common. Always continuity-check before relying on a colour. Disconnect the battery before unplugging any ECU.

Note on splices 6, 19 and 20. The door-pin diodes are 1N4001 silicon devices with the cathode band facing away from the splice. They isolate the two pin-switch circuits so opening one door does not back-feed the other.

The fuseboard is split into lettered AMP connector blocks A–P. The source document covers blocks A–E in full; later blocks were cut off in the upload.

Later fuseboard blocks (F–P) are referenced repeatedly in the splice tables above (e.g. fuse 17 = block M pin 75AK; fuse 20 = block P pin 30AS; horn fuse = block K pin 6; engine fan 1 = block F pin 55).

Practical tips when working with Revision 3 looms

Section titled “Practical tips when working with Revision 3 looms”
  • Trident vs Duomate. If you find blue/grey rectangular wire-to-wire connectors, the car is on the earlier AMP Duomate scheme. Revision 3 cars use the round-edged ITT Cannon Trident range. Pins are not interchangeable between the two families.
  • Cavity marking. TVR explicitly required that every identically coloured wire be marked with its cavity number on the 24- and 36-way multiways. Many cars have lost these markings — re-label as you go.
  • Diodes in the lock loom. Splice joints 6/19/20 contain 1N4001 diodes. A short or open diode here will produce confusing alarm and door-pin symptoms; check them with a meter on the diode range before suspecting the door lock ECU.
  • Fuel pump suppression. J52 includes a 1.1 µF capacitor across the pump’s positive terminal to chassis. If you’ve replaced the pump, replace the cap too — it suppresses radio interference and protects relay contacts.
  • Always disconnect the battery before unplugging the door lock ECU, ignition ECU or immobiliser. Hot-unplugging these is a known cause of failures.

Compiled from the official Cerbera “Connectors” Revision 3 wiring document — always verify against the original drawing and continuity-test on the car before relying on it for repair work.
